hmm..lets see..where do i start?? im a singer,writer,performer, co host of The Chrismorale Experience radio show, promoter..and mom of a beautiful daughter..My team is MaDD PPuLL who i stand behind with pride (ask me about the MoDaze/MaDD PPuLL tat that covers half my leg lol..yup they have my heart). I've worked with Chrismorale and his cousin Fadaze (together known as Modaze) musically somewhere around 6 years now.
Fadaze found me on my soundclick site where i was posting self written compositions with my acoustic guitar..I was in England, he was in New Jersey..thats the beauty of technology! When he asked me to collab with him i was surprized since hip hop was not a genre i'd considered before and did not grow up with. But i woke up in the middle of the night with a song idea using an acoustic track i'd written about the suicide of somebody i knew..he heard me, the track was flipped to reach out to the hip hop community about violence and puttin the call out for unity..'lets get our minds right, more multiplyin and less dividin'..produced by Marcus Prhyme! Our first track together still gives me goosebumps..still love it..and that was the track that got me looking at hip hop..the music, the culture, everything about it, in a whole new light..
A few months later he introduced me to his cousin Chrismorale, a highly talented producer and artist (also host of The Chrismorale Experience)with whom i've worked closely ever since.
I was born in Cali but lived half my life in England..In February 09 i sold up and came to New Jersey to work closer with my MaDD PPuLL team who have also been my mentors, guiding my ears and helping me develop as an artist.
I'm still learning, growing, appreciating, experiencing every part of hip hop and haven't looked back..i feel like ive come home, found where i belonged musically. I love that Real Hip hop embraces every genre of music and speaks with wisdom and trueness with story telling, or a sound that expresses all we need to know, or a combination..I say this often but from the heart, any artist who says they have nothing left to rap or sing about needs to cut their tongue out..as long as u have eyes, a mind to think with, emotion, an ability to hold a conversation, then you will NEVER run out of things to write about or express.
The central core of me is about singing, writing, recording..i love the creativity beyond anything else i can tell you (other than motherhood of course)..there's something undescribably delicious about sitting with a beat that speaks to you that makes it feel like you are not doing the writing..it just flows! that feeling/experience is beyond compare..verryy addictive ;)
oh yea and my thing is networking, hearing what other artists/producers are doing, how they do what they do..music is a lifelong learning + growing experience, we all have to stay on top of our own game and give what we can to help other artists!
I'm so in tune with and completely behind this site, what Billy and his producers are doing is showing their love of the game, the art and giving something to it that can NOT be valued..its priceless..so big ups, love and appreciation..lets all back him up and do what we can to get the word out! - My Skill(s)
